#2013alive: alive Staff Share How They Liven Up Their Living Spaces

It’s week 3 of October’s 12 Months of Wellness journey. Learn how alive staff decorate their homes to make them smile.

Welcome to October’s 12 Months of Wellness challenge. If you’re just tuning in, October’s theme is all about having fun. This week, we channel our inner interior decorators and have fun by livening up our living spaces.

Here’s what some alive staff have been sharing about their homes, and the special things that make them smile.

Jennifer Procyshyn, Account Manager: “I frame all of my daughters’ art projects and paintings.  I pick up frames from IKEA and they look like I paid to have them professionally framed!”

Nina Wagner, Project Manager: “My husband surprised me earlier this year by creating a mantle in our living room to display our family pictures. Since we live in an apartment, and the space is limited, I didn’t really have a place to share these memories. It was a really simple addition, but it’s had a huge impact!

“He hung a large mirror horizontally on the wall to create some depth and then mounted a simple white shelf from IKEA underneath it to create the mantle. He then framed a few of our much loved shots in mismatched silver frames (from Winners!), and put them on the shelf. This is now my favourite feature in the apartment. Every time I sit down on the sofa and see it I’m reminded of how special my family is and it puts a huge smile on my face!”

Amanda Pentland, Graphic Designer: “I’m getting together with one of my best friends this Friday evening for a craft night. We both love making art for the home. One of our crafts planned for this Friday together is making collage art, from old magazines around the house. Or better yet, some of our old childhood artwork repurposed into modern collage artwork for the home!”
