We are so excited to announce that our New York City chapter has just brought on a new team to run Wanderful initiatives and keep the love growing around the NYC area.
These amazing women will all be working together to plan Wanderful events, build local partnerships, improve the membership program locally, and engage more women around NYC in our global sisterhood.
Our NYC Team
Ariel Goldberg — Chapter Leader
Ariel is Wanderful’s community manager, as well as a Wanderful blogger and PR/Marketing lead for the Women in Travel Summit. She first co-launched the Wanderful NYC chapter in the summer of 2013, and has been organizing events in the NYC area ever since. She has lived in(/on) Long Island, Boston, and the southeast Netherlands, but now calls Brooklyn her home. A self-proclaimed activist, Ariel works in digital content strategy for a social justice nonprofit and manages her own consultancy business, but most often dreams of running away to Paris (and is frequently a mouse click away from booking a one-way ticket).
Jenny Hart — Events Officer
Jenny Hart has worked on staff at nine national publications and breaks out in hives if she’s away from the airport for more than six months. Her hobbies include reading, critiquing photography that’s better than hers, and trying not to miss her subway stop while doing either. She graduated from Hofstra University with degrees in Journalism, Global Studies, English and Religion. She lives in New York City.
Katie Rehder — Events Officer
Katie is originally from North Carolina but has lived in San Diego, Boston, and now New York City since graduating from North Carolina State University in 2009. She has continuously worked with educational non-profits to help ensure all students succeed. She prides herself in being a traveler and not a tourist.
Ashley Hufford — Marketing Officer
Ashley is a part-time traveler & full-time NHL production assistant, currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She can often be found road-tripping, watching hockey and blogging at Under The Ash Tree.
Gabi Logan — Membership Officer
Despite only ever going on vacation to the same three U.S. spots growing up (and two were relatives!), Gabi Logan has turned cultural curiosity into a career. She parlayed a degree in Italian culture and a stint working at the Center for International Studies at MIT into a life of freelance travel writing, beginning with a position writing cultural news about the country that will always be her home away from home, Italy.
Before she left her 9-5 behind, Gabi served on several non-profit boards focused on her other passions: theater, sustainable food, and historical preservation. She’s excited to bring her knowledge of the membership organizations and the travel industry to Wanderful, connecting more women in travel to the organization and the organization to more opportunities.
Nicolette Orlemans — Partnerships Officer
Nicolette Orlemans grew up in a multicultural, bilingual home in The Netherlands to a Polish mother and a Dutch father. She is currently based in New York City, where she works as a communications strategist. When she’s not working, Nicolette loves to travel, and has visited much of Europe, seen many of the U.S. states, and traveled to Egypt. In November 2014, Nicolette founded #CultureTrav, a Twitter chat that focuses on how travelers personally experience travel – adapting to cultural differences, how bridging any language gaps, creating new homes as expats, and much more.
